We headed to old city as friends came into town and met up with some more cats. Normal crowd as expected but not as crowded as one would expect for the day before Thanksgiving. One place was giving us problems with our sneaker game but they let us in VIP stylee as soon as they realized it was the 5151 brigade. Drinking martinis with friends as we conversed about new beginnings, middles and endings. Good parking was only a block away as we headed to Transit with more friends than we had initially met.
That girl Sara was working the door as we rolled downstairs and the Rub had the basement bouncing. Tony Clifton was chilling and challenging people to wrestling matches. PackofRats was there representing for Plastic Little. Spankrock was balling after his new record dropped, Brown Betty. Spankrock is that dude that you need to know about. Check him out Dec. 17th at the Troc. More details soon. Swingkidd was down and Amanda Blank came by after checking out Sweatheart across the way at Silk City. Meanwhile Low Budget was dropping in some of that gutter music that got the club crunk.
We checked out Wink as he did his thing with new dubplates and old classics. The place was packed as everybody was dancing and in a higher state of conciousness. Okeef came next and kept the crowd going.
We bounced upstairs and saw that Steven Bloodbath was rocking out. He merked them and had the place like that first scene in Blade with the blood sprinklers. John Redden came on later and had them goin crazy.
So much fun tonight. Check the pics here. If you're heading to NYC, check out Cosmo at Table 50 and them dudes Caps&Jones on Saturday doin the weekly thing at Savalas.
