After an insane long weekend of drinking, good music, dancing, drinking, friends, drinking, eating and dancing we're back to the normal grind. Shout out to
Caps and Jones for holding it down on Saturday at Savalas in Brooklyn and yall should already know about Pleasuretronix.
So we're on to more partying and we're starting tomorrow with two events
more...Wednesday
Every Wednesday Simplefly does it big at Medusas Lounge. This week they have them Philly boys Clayton & Fulcrum. These dudes are serious, check out their site for all sorts of mpfrees. Also they just released a new CD so go get it here or at Tower. Btw, Jay just got into the blog game so go check him out here
Meanwhile, Seclusiasis Studios (dev79,starkey and stumble) bring you Philadelphia Laptop Battle 4. The name is pretty self explanatory, armed only with laptops producers battle their way through rounds of competition. Check it out at Silk City. Thursday
We're heading back to Silk City tonight for Lady Sovereign! The biggest midget in the game is making waves likes she's Godzilla in the Sea of Japn. Jay Z just signed her to Def Jam so if you haven't heard of her before, you will soon. Check out audio clips on Myspace and her own page. Rumor had been that Diplo was going to open but he is globetrotting spinning at unbelievable parties in China. Opening up will be Ghislain Poirier and Dave P who opened up for Too Many DJ's on their European tour. Check Ghislain's Masala mix of instrumental left-field hip hop and next level unclassifiable music on his main page. Since I know you loved that new ish, go cop his new cd here.
Also check out Low Budget who spins every Thursday at the 700 Club. If you didn't know, now you know.
Friday
First Friday is back again. You know the deal, art in old city. With Body Worlds going on, this seems like a perfect time for Jordan Eagles and his paintings comprised of "blood mixed with metallic powder and glass pigment." PW has some interesting photos, so this may have to be one of those can't miss galleries. Also check out the Black Floor Gallery for Alex da Corte's Welcome your Sorrows. "Inspired by the works of C.S. Lewis (Chronicles of Narnia ), traditional religious teachings, and childhood experiences. Da Corte's work creates an Armageddon illustrating a second coming of Eden."
Once you did the art thing, go check out them dudes emynd, Bo Bliz and Dan the Swede as they're back once again with ill behaviour at White T's White Belts.
